Good afternoon, I am here in front of you, my dear students to briefly answer the question, Is Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquaio really a hero? I should start it by telling you some of his achievements, how he became famous and most specially a said to be hero in our country.

Pacquiao started his professional boxing career in 1995 at the age of 16. His early fights usually took place in small venues which he became an instant star of the programs. Pacquiao’s big break came on June 23, 2001 which won the fight by technical knockout to become the IBF Super Bantamweight champion on a bout held at Las, Vegas Nevada. He defended this title four times. He continually gained, that’s why he became really famous, here and out of the country.
He is so called as a Destroyer since he has been in almost exclusively big money fights against world class boxer. Most memorable of these fights are undoubtedly his three showdowns with Erik Morales, his two victories over Barrera and his draw against Juan Manuel Marquez.

From a lowly bakery boy to a bona fide world boxing champion and celebrity, the story of Manny Pacquiao’s rise to global prominence is the stuff that legends are made of.
Who would have thought that an impoverished boy from an obscure town in General Santos City, with only his guts and fists, will take on the world stage and prove that perseverance, and unbelievable grit, really do pay. The rise of Pacquiao as a world-class boxer comes as a breath of fresh air to an ailing nation desperately in need of a hero. We all know, whether fighting abroad or in his home country, Pacquiao carriers with him the pride of a whole nation. Never before in the Philippines’ colorful history, or in any other country, that a boxing match, with Pacquiao fighting, can put a temporary lid to criminality.
