To feed a large popualtion, China once put too much stress on its economic development without paying sufficient attention to the conservation of natural resources. As a result, serious issues on environmental deterioration emerged in succession. To our relief, China took immediate remedial measures to put the matter right before being driven into the peril. Now China has channeled its economy on the track of sustainable development. Therefore, we have good reason to expect an unrivalled prosperity from China. Apart from its truth on a national scale, the proverb cannot be too true of scientific development. As a matter of fact, trial and error is basic method by which the experimental science can produce its theories.
Now that the gains form the falls means so much for human beings, we should develop a good attitude toward failures. Most important of all , we ought to bear in mind that it is not errors or mistakes but the loss of confidence and courage that are really terrible.
