A Person Who Influnced Me
The person who influenced me the most is my grandfather. He was like my dad. Even though he died on Jan 16th, 2002, he was still very special to me. He always taught me how to be a good person. He never did everything wrong. He was always fair to everybody, he was like my mentor. When I was growing up, I never had a father, because my parents were divorced when I was three. I could always go to my grandfather for everything that I needed.
He influenced me so much. When I was younger I always remember waking up early in the morning and going to a fundraiser that he did every year. He was so loyal to his community. I have so much respect for him. Also when I was younger I can remember looking at him and all that I saw was niceness. He would always play with me and whenever things were bad he was always there to comfort everyone. I always wanted to be like that. He had no enemies and I always wondered how he did it. I thought to myself that when I grew up I wanted to be just like that.
On Jan 16th 2002 my world came crashing down. My mom got a phone call saying my grandfather had passed away, I was devastated. In the next days to come we had his funeral. He left behind a lot of family members that loved him. Sill to this day it is hard for me to get over it.
I have always been very close with my grandfather. I have never had anyone that was really close to me dying before. I took it very hard, because I was only in the sixth grade I did not know how to react to something that was life changing. He has influenced me so greatly that it was very hard to take.
