To Be Able To Understand The Characters And Their Relationships In Blood Brotherswhat Does The Extract On Page 49-50 Where Mrs Lyons Threatens Mrs Johnstone With A Knife Tell You About Mrs Lyons At This Point In The Play?

It tells you that Mrs Lyons is paranoid and feels that Mrs Johnstone's actions for example moving house to the same region as Mrs Lyons and giving a locket to Edward is a direct attempt to try and take Mrs Lyons' son away from her.
Mrs Lyons obviously feels very protective over Edward at this point in the play as the chance of the deal breaking and the sons finding out that they are in fact brothers is greatened.

As you can see from the table above blood brothers in an inticing place that depicts the lifes and tributes of two boys seperated at birth, who eventually go on to fall in love with the same girl and ultimatly end up killing each other in cold blood. Throughout the script there are many references towards superstitions and even murder. You will notice the relationship between Mrs Johnstone and Mrs Lyons and the relationship between the two boys towards the girl Linda, Micky especially.
Was this all to be, did it need to happen, was the future set in stone by the actions of people in the past. Could it have been prevented? Could the in cold blood has stopped?
