Abortion Is One Of The Greatest Evils In This World For A Christian To Commit
Abortion is one of the greatest evils in this world; it is one of the greatest evils in society. Abortion is the killing of an innocent unborn foetus. It is cold-blooded murder and a mortal sin. Abortion is an evil because the foetus is a human being like us and has human right like us.
Some say that abortion is not that bad because if the mother does not want the baby then it shouldn't be born anyway. Some believe that women have the right to decide what they want to do with their bodies. The women may have been raped and looking at the child may bring back memories of the ordeal. The embryo is just a collection of cells or maybe if she has the baby it could put her life at risk. The mother could be too young to cope with a baby or maybe it's disabled or deformed and the mother doesn't want a defected child. Whatever the circumstances it is still a baby and it isn't its fault. The child should not be held responsible for the crime of its father for example (rape).
Some people feel very strongly about abortion. If we don't legalise abortion women will have it done anyway in backstreet clinics with dirty needles. We can't force a child onto a woman who doesn't want it but it can go up for adoption to a family that does want it. Christians believe that from the moment of conception the embryo is a human being and it is alive and life is a gift from God we shouldn't throw it away so easily. Before mothers consider abortion they should get in touch with organisation to support mothers such as life or spuc. The unborn foetus cannot speak for itself so we should give it the chance to. Doctors have now discovered that when the baby is faced with the knife it moves away with fear and it feels pain, so it dies in agony.
Having weighed up the arguments for and against I think it is morally wrong in all cases to murder an unborn child. It is one of the most serious crimes a Christian can commit in today's society.
