Abortion - The Wrong Choice
The abortion debate is raging rapidly in America. The opposing sides in the debate each strongly feel they are correct. The pro-choice supporters see a woman's "right to choose" as central in their debate. The life of the baby is the most important concern of the pro-life supporters. Abortion is immoral, it is murder, and it is not justifiable.
Abortion is immoral. It has become more morally acceptable to some people simply because it is currently legal. Legality does not imply morality. The taking of and innocent human life is unacceptable. Killing innocent people is immoral and illegal in the United States; therefore, abortion should be illegal. There is no difference between deliberately killing a human being who has been born and deliberately kililng a human being who is still inside his mother.
The embryo is a person from the moment of conception. Abortion is the taking of an innocent human life, which is wrong under any circumstance. An unborn baby is more than potential life. It is a meaningful human life that should not be considered expendable. Because human life begins with conception, killing a human being in its first state of life is no less justifiable than killing a human being at any other stage in its life. Most assuredly, abortion is murder.
Pro-choice supporters feel taht a woman's "right to choose" makes abortion justifiable. It is not justifiable in any way. An unborn baby's right to life should have priority over a woman's "right to choose". No woman or man should have the power to decide if a baby is allowed to live. A woman's right over her body does not give her the right to an abortion. If a woman has rights over her body, then the unborn baby has those rights too. The child has the right not to be killed.
