The question of whether abortion should be an autimatic leagl right for all women is one which causes strong feelings. This is a contravertial issue and is still being discused about aound the world, on whether or not it should be a woman's legal right. I feel that is should be a woman's right to decide.
In the course of this essay I will consider the arguments for and against abortion. Abortion has been recognised as a fundamental human right for the past few dacades. Since 1967 abortion has been legal in Britain even though people still argue their reasons on whether it is right to take a life.
There are many people that support abortion, although their reasons are varied. Some would argue that it is a woman's right to choose whether or not to terminate her pregnancy. They feel that if the government had to make abortion illegal then this would mean a woman would lose her right as a person. Others might argue that abortion should be legal as if a woman was a victim of rape she should be able to terminate the child. Also where the child has an identified medical problem ( disability ) then it might be too much for a woman to handle, the child would have a low quality of life, and she should have the choice. Some women have abortions as they know that it might not be the right time to have one. If the woman is going to ba a single parent, have financial problems, in an unstable mental state or the home enviroment is not suitable for a child then she should be entitled to make the decision.
On the other hand there are also many people who do not support abortion, the pro-life campaigners for example. They do not believe that women should kill their unborn childern, and that they should give them a chance to live no matter what the cicumstances.
