Legalizing Marijuana
Many people would argue on if the use of marijuana should be legalized or not. There are already some states that marijuana is used legally for medicinal purposes. Then, there are other people were feeling strongly about the health damages and other adverse affects that the drug may impose on someone. There are many pros and cons toward this sensitive subject. I will provide just a few pros and cons to legalizing this drug.
I will start by giving you a few of the pros on legalizing this drug. People have been using medicinal marijuana for chronic pain, AIDS related issues, mood disorders, cancer, glaucoma, and epilepsy. In many states now, they offer medicinal marijuana prescriptions. Some patients are authorized to grow their own plants in the privacy of their own homes. They are given a certain amount they are allowed to grow or have on them. More than the exceeded amount grown would be considered recreational use. For those using marijuana is mostly for pain in association with patients undergoing chemotherapy or musculoskeletal pains associated with severe arthritis.
If marijuana use were legal, drug dealers would probably lose most or even all of their street business. Drug cartels make millions of dollars shipping, distributing, and selling their marijuana on the streets. Getting drug dealers out of the streets would be a great deal to everyday society. There would be less gang violence over the drugs. There are too many victims losing their lives over selling or stealing drugs. People being killed because they owe money to their drug dealers, and that is a huge issue in the streets. Too many people owe too much money. If it were legalized, street justice to these drug disputes would be greatly reduce.
