The title of the movie was Amadeus and it's based on the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's life. The movie was released in 1984 and won eight academy awards including best picture. Amadeus is a fairly well known film by Peter Shaffer on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's life with a very interesting dramatic story. Amadeus covers the time that Mozart spent mostly in Vienna, the musical center of Europe at the time. The film chronicles Mozart's triumphs and failures as viewed by the film's protagonist and most complex character, Antonio Salieri, the court composer to Austria's Joseph II. Salieri finds his faith in God shattered by the glorious talents of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the childish genius whose music has a brilliance Salieri can never hope to match. Salieri eventually defies God by declaring all-out war on Mozart, using his influence to shatter the foul-mouthed upstart's career. Antonio Salieri tried to suicide.
