America’s Crutch: Energy from Over Yonder
Ever wonder why the American citizens are so dependent on gas for their high energy consuming vehicles. The American citizens complain all the time about gas prices going up and down. They have to compensate for their weekly gas fill up by cutting down on things that they would rather enjoy than standing at the pump for nothing but disappointment to their pocket books. What the average American consumer often forgets of this ever so popular energy commodity, is that using up something so precious also requires more production. Gas is not necessarily the main source of the Americans dependence on energy, gas is just the product of the main source of oil. All over the world people are needing oil for daily energy needs. Energy is what makes the world go around these days.
Americans are known for bleeding the world dry with their greediness. Some wonder why we claim to be the “super-continent” because no one can beat our “God Bless America” and “Land of the Free” lyrics to our country’s anthems. We also do not realize how much we are taking from our country and other countries oil wells. We are not the only ones with hidden and secretive oil wells. Since the war, we have pretty much had a free for all with the oil supply from other countries. I mean, like I said we are the supercontinent everyone hates or yet talks about. America is kind of the most popular girl in school and the world is high school. We think we can do anything we want and no have any consequences. Well those sayings, “you reap what you sew” and “what goes around comes around” are coming back to life with America’s dependence on energy from itself and other countries. Not to worry supply and demand will always be in our world.
Where do we get this always needed energy (oil) for people who use it like it’s water? People think we have unlimited source of energy. We do to an extent, but we try to keep it on reserve so do not run out. In...
