It’s a dirty job but someone’s got to do it! An intense rivalry has been going on for years now in the disposable diaper industry; some call it the “Battle of the Brands.” Babies’ bottoms are big bucks for Proctor & Gamble and Kimberly Clark. This feud has been going on for 40 years now and counting. Proctor & Gamble launched Pampers brand Disposable Diapers. Pampers quickly climbed the ladder and became P & G’s most profitable and dominant brand, stressing mainly product efficiency and innovation. Then in 1968, Kimberly Clark entered in the market with Huggies Brand, this quickly became P & G’s biggest competitor. P & G took a hard hit from Huggies, they even launched another brand of Diapers called LUVS. Sadly that did little to help their sales, Huggies now dominates the disposable diaper market outselling Pampers and LUVS combined. Tests have shown that Huggies brand has been proven to have top of the line leakage control, rash prevention, and have the best comfort fit. Consumer Reports estimates parents will spend between $1,500 and $2,000 on disposable diapers before their child is potty trained. With that kind of an investment, many parents have strong views on which brand is best, and all leads put Huggies up on top.
Tests done by skeptics have proven Huggies Brand has the best leakage control. As all parents know there seems to be the most problems with leakage when the child is sleeping. It’s a horrible feeling when you walk into the room to get your baby out of bed and all you can smell is urine, and then see that they are completely soaked from head to toe. Or how about when all of the gel comes out because the diaper is so saturated that it cannot hold anymore.
