“Is your body well,” is a greeting you would receive if you visited Bhutan. Bhutan is also known for being ruled by complete monarchy. People bow to say hello, instead of shaking hands. Also, men like to play Khurun, Soccer, Basketball and Archery. If you ever visit Bhutan, make sure to pass your superiors on their left side. It is disrespectful to walk on their right. Bhutan is 18,147 square miles, which is about half the size of Indiana.
Bhutan is located on the continent of Asia. Bhutan is right below China and above India. It is in the northern hemisphere, and it is 27 30 N latitude, and 90 30 E longitude. Bhutan is only 18,147 square miles, which is approximately half the size of Indiana. And that doesn’t include any coast line.
Landforms don’t vary much in Bhutan. There are mostly mountains; like the Black Mountains, Chomolnari, Gangkhar Pucnsum, Kula Kangri, and the all important Himalayas. The main rivers in Bhutan are; Torsa, Sankosh, Mongde, Kuru and Bangme. The most important land form in Bhutan is the Himalayas. The Himalayas are an importance to Bhutan because when rainfalls, all of the fresh water is distributed down to the lower levels, and replenishes the rest of Bhutan.
Thimphu is the capitol, and biggest city, of Bhutan. Other major cities are Phuntsholing, Pajo, and Tashi Yangtze. They are located in the southwest, northwest, and northeast areas of Bhutan. The maximum populations in those cities are 17, 0433,032 and 3,025.
Climate in Bhutan is very cold. The average temperature is 56 degrees Fahrenheit. The wet or rainy season in Bhutan is the monsoon season, and the dry season is in the winter. The wettest parts of Bhutan are the Himalayas, or the north. The driest area of Bhutan is the hills, in the south, but still, the hills are very wet.
