Revealing My Bush

Bush's campaign for the presidency in 2004 has focused on many arguments. One of his main topics of argument has been about lowering taxes. In his last campaign, he lowered our taxes, but he didn't quite get to where he thought it should be. In the picture above, Bush is shown giving a testimony about lowering taxes more. Obviously, he is trying to infect our minds with his love and compassion for the issue that plagues our neighbors as well as ourselves, but could there be something more in the image than meets the common mans eye?
Take a long look at the picture above, paying more attention to the text that is written directly below. The text reads "President George W. Bush addresses tax relief in the East Room of the White House." By only reading this, we can gather that Bush wants to lower taxes, but, by combining the text with the picture, we can tell much more. Look at the family behind President Bush. By them being behind him, it implies support and also trust, by trust I mean they are able to sit behind Mr. Bush when most people aren't even allowed anywhere close to him.
The layout of the picture is very important to the way we can look at it. As I stated above, the fact that the family can sit so close and behind the president shows support and trust, but the lighting and clothing of the family are far more important. The lighting of the room tends to focus on the mother sitting behind Bush. Her blue dress adds to the focus and keeps your eyes there for a few seconds longer than a black or brown dress would. The dress also goes well with what the baby is wearing. The father is almost an afterthought in the picture. The lighting is careful to almost shade him out but still show the older daughter. The lighting tells me that married mothers with children are a targeted audience of Mr. Bush's speech by the fact that the mother seems to be lit up in the picture.
