According to the Coffee Time scenario several factors can affect the data and research process. The first limitation that hinders Coffee Time from having all of the necessary data is the amount of revenue the company can expect to make during the first year. The second limitation is unknown expectations of the consumer who speak several languages and come from various backgrounds accepting the premium exotic coffee flavors . The country Ahmedabad currently does not have any coffee shops and the income level is not as high as the other countries selected. The city appears to have modern culture outlook and a high degree of affluence which should help it stand out from other low income cities. Another limitation for Coffee Time is the reliability of data concerning consumer behavior patterns as it relates to purchasing soft drinks, tea and coffee. (Coffee Time Simulation 2008)
Most of the countries are emerging markets and coffee is seen as a luxury item and does not have an abundance of disposable income. As the Business Manager of Coffee Time I would like to see more information concerning what times of the day are when most people drink coffee. The company Starbucks has shown that premium coffee is consumed all times during the day. With the sample survey, daily consumption and spending habits are definitely major factors needed to develop an accurate outcome. The survey should be obtained through small focus groups, a mass mail out to the community and free samples given out to prospective customers.
Coffee drinking in China is still associated with the Western countries, and is seen as more of a fashion statement, and a luxury, than something you prepare at home on your way to work. But consumption in general is on the rise, and the numbers do bear this out. It should be noted however, that much of the coffee consumption in China is currently in the form of instant coffee.
