Canada's Name
Canada, a name given to our country by two nationalities, the Aborigines, and French. Aborigines called the village Canada, but the French insisted that it was the name of the country, and that is how we got our name, exciting, eh. Canada wasn't just formed overnight, many peoples, and nations created Canada, and the three main nations were British, French, and Aboriginal. Although some people believe it was just French and British, this essay will provide other historical support to prove that there are actually three founding nations of Canada. History shows the French as the first to come over and influence Canada, to their way of thinking. Then the English came across the ocean and took over the French colonies and made their own influence in Canada. It can not be said that the Aborigines did not influence Canada because if it were not for them neither the French nor the English would have known how to survive in this land. They were the first people to live in Canada. In summary Canada is a product of three founding Nations French, British and not last or least Aboriginal.
The French came across the oceans to Canada exploring for new trade routes, for gold, and land, they did not find the trade routes they were looking for. Instead they found Canada, not discovered, more by accident than by plan, found this land. Where they found, not new routes of trade but new people to trade with. The French were also the first to form and keep a colony alive in Canada, with exception of Aborigines. They called this place "New France" (Canada), the French thought that the Aborigines were a weak people who they could easily take over, covert or just to be used in whatever way is needed. Due to the need for fur in France the Aboriginal were also very useful for trading partners, and this lead to a rising economy in France.
