Capra's War

The first film of the day was "Prelude to War" by Frank Capra. The film is geared to show the mistakes by both diplomats and politicians alike, which led to WWII. The film focuses on the Americans who are shown as detached from believing that foreign policy has any effect on them, while global powers build a war. The film does well in showing the fascist lies and how they go against Democracy.
I thought this was an engaging film given our current knowledge of WWI and WWII. The film gives a perspective unknown to people like myself who weren't alive back then, and for this a documentary like this is very important. I enjoy how the film gives a perspective of what would be had the war not happened and the U.S. not gotten involved. In comparison to other films by Capra, although similar in style, it shows a different side of Capra's film making that I had never been exposed to.For our second film of the day we watched "Silverlake Life: A View from Here" by Joslin and......
