Car Problem
Several points need to be made clear if we are to consider the issue of "Car: more benefits than harm or more harm than benefits"?
Firstly, cars have brought about countless benefits to the people ever since car was created, and with the continuous improvement over the years, cars now have revolutionized people's concept for time and space, and traveling over 1,000 miles in a day is no longer a fairy tale. Living in the country but going to the city to work has blurred the boundaries between the rural and urban areas. Cars also make family travels convenient. It has brought about great changes to people's way of working, with faster pace and higher efficiency.
While cars bring convenience to people, they bring problems as well, especially as the number of cars is on the increase. For instance, according to statistics for the last few decades, the number of people who died under the wheels has already surpassed the number of people killed in the second world war. The smoke discharge from cars cause pollution that threatens the health of the people. The rush hour traffic jams have become a headache for city administrators.
With the development of science and technology, people have now gradually found solutions to the problems caused by cars, and new energy sources shall completely do away with exhaust from cars. Scientific urban planning and management shall lessen the traffic problems, and higher awareness shall reduce traffic accidents.
In a word, there are more benefits brought about by cars, which is, to borrow an old Chinese proverb, "white jade with but a very faint flaw".
