General Outline
I. Carbon Monoxide gas is a hazard in many places and situations.
A. Unknowingly, you can be subjected to carbon monoxide poisoning almost anywhere.
1. Any fuel-burning appliance, vehicle, tool or other device has the potential to produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide gas.
II. Every person or family should own a Carbon Monoxide Detector.
A. Once it detects dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, it will sound and alarm you, potentially saving your life.
1. In the U.S., 1,500 people die annually due to accidental carbon monoxide exposure, and an additional 10,000 seek medical attention. These numbers could be decreased if more people owned detectors.
