Career Development Plan Part Iii: Performance And Career Development

Introduction
As InterClean has completed the training and mentoring program it is time to move forward to implementing a “Performance and Career Management” plan. InterClean’s sales department was in need of additional guidance and motivation in order to accomplish the organizations’ new strategic goals and transition into their new roles effortlessly. By developing and implementing the “Performance and Career Management” program it will assist the employees and the organization achieving the set goals in a formal way by providing knowledge of the organizational goals, individual goals, team goals, and keeping employees aware of what is going on.
In order to continue moving forward toward the new strategic goals without interruptions to our timelines, I have already implemented the Performance and Career Development plan for the sales department. To enable them to accurately to achieve the goals and ensure all team members are working towards the same common goals. These plans involved three specific major areas in order to accurately and clearly define the desired individual and team performance. The three specific areas the Performance and Career Management plan will focus on are: define, facilitate, and encourage performance. “Studies show that goals, direct attention to the specific performance in question.” (Cascio, 2006, p. 330)


Performance and Career Plan Specifics
The first phase of the Performance and Career Development Plan kick off, it will begin with goal setting this means setting attainable goals, which will include providing a starting reference point for the organization and sales team, and clear communication for the sales team indicating what the department goals are.
