Paying bills is a common routine in today’s world. With more services, there are more bills to be paid. Different services will mean different websites, different counters, and a whole lot of time and effort. The CBS is an enterprise aimed at reducing the time and effort of the users.
Revenue generated is via advertisements on the website and the commission charged. This venture will generate a lot of publicity and goodwill for our organization.
Statement of need
A Common Window payment service, a website, will enable users to pay all their bills including water, electricity, telephone, and other dues at one place which saves time.
Project Description
The CBS will comprise a strong website which will link the bill payment modules from various companies, public and private. It will have a user friendly interface which allows users to navigate through the website without hassles. The payment will be collected through a 128 bit encrypted secure connection to ensure complete confidentiality of customer information.
The project will be handled by experienced senior managers from our organisation. We would require around 20 people including around 8 people from the technical department and 1 team lead, for development and maintenance of the website, 3 people to manage finances and 1 team lead, 2 people to liaise with the companies concerned, a temporary requirement of 2 people for marketing/publicity and a manager.
The development of the website is expected to take around 2 months during which, the liaising will also be taken care of. The website will be operational in around 3 months, including a buffer of 1 month. The project is expected to return profits in around 8 months from launch.
