Conflict is a major ingredient in many films. It is used to show character development, to show major problems in society, and to give the movie a plot line. In the dictionary conflict means a clash between hostile or opposing elements, ideas, or forces. In most of the movies that were watched there was a definite conflict, some even had more than one. Whether the conflict was love like in the movie Amarcord, or trying to get back home as in Rabbit-Proof Fence each conflict had it's own reason for the movie to have an effect on the audience.
L'Auberge Espagnole was a movie that almost every young person can relate to. The conflicts in the movie were simple but not drawn out. The main character, Xavier, travels to another country to study Spanish economics even though he isn't interested in the subject at all. Audience members might feel a connection with the character because they are in the same situation. With every mistake......
