Death In 3 American Stories
As my subject I have chosen for death. I have always been interested in death and I found three items in which it occurred, so it was an obvious choice for me. The three items I have chosen are: the film Pocahontas, The story of the creation on page 22 and a poem by Anne Bradstreet, ‘In memory of my dear grandchild Elizabeth Bradstreet, who deceased August, 1665, being a year and a half old.

‘Is by His hand alone that guides nature and fate’.
So, this poem is about the death of Anne Bradstreet’s grandchild who, in her eyes, died much too young. And she gives examples of how things are supposed to go.
Although she misses her grandchild a lot, she has peace with his or hers death. Because in the last sentence she writes that only Gods controls nature and fate. And the tone of that sentence lets me believe she has made her peace with it.
