Secondly, in Dell operations, Dell uses PowerEdge 1300 server which are high speed, upgradeable servers with Intel Pentium II microprocessors. It also supports high performance PCI bus. Other than that, the PowerEdge 1300 has the ability to run dedicated server applications such as file and print, Internet/Intranet, and e-mail. Therefore, it safely increases employee productivity through the use of secure workforce systems.
Thirdly, Dell has created its website dell.com for e-commerce perspective such as business to business (B2B) and business to customer (B2C). Also, in e-commerce, the whole process of purchasing and procurement of materials is automated between Dell and its suppliers. Dell also shares its information such as product quality and inventory with its suppliers through valuechain.dell.com.
Other than that, Dell has created the Integrated Dell Desktop (IDD) with the collaboration of Microsoft in call centre, to enhance the customer experience while increasing the efficiency of its sales model. IDD provides the capabilities of the core Dell business systems as web services.
