Fire Department Counselor
After carefully reading about buildings, cars, and house fires; I have realized the severeness of these fires and how they can destroy lives. I have researched basically every way a fire can start. In the research, I found out about a previous house fire that started on May 4, 2008, in Delray Beach, Florida. A young lady by the name of “Nicole Hathe” was out parting at a club and left her seven children at home with a teenaged “baby-sitter” (Dianna Cahn). These actions were careless on her behalf and left her with another loss of a child. While the children were at home the fire started over in the early morning hours. According to the article, “Fire Investigators determined that the fire was caused by incense left burning” (Dianna Cahn). “These incense were left by one of the siblings and no criminal action was found” (Dianna Cahn). Fortunately the others were able to make it out of the house with only minor bruising and burns.
I think that this was something that could have been avoided if the mother was a little more responsible. In this article it talks about the mother of the children is a drug user and how she has problems, but yet, she’s still able to care for her children. I disagree with this, I don’t feel that she is worthy of taking care of herself, neither is she able to take care and provide for her children taken in consideration of her previous actions. I think that she has burden her family and others with her careless acts. In the end, the children have suffered the most because they have loss another sibling. I think this is going to be tuff on this family, because this is another death within nine years apart. I hope the proper counseling is held for these children and their mother during this troubled time. I think for the most part that these kids have had a devastating life and will need some serious help.
