Surprisingly, the DISC Platinum Rule Assessment is precise when evaluating myself and comparing my work ethics in the business sector and personal. According to the DISC Platinum Rule Assessment, my strengths are listening, teamwork, reliability and follow-through. Recently in life, I’ve noticed I speak little to no words when engaged in conversations with others. I have been commended for my listening skills by friends, family and coworkers. I typically comment on their choice of conversation versus initiating conversation. Although I enjoy my privacy and conducting tasks on my own, I am more energetic when working on a project in a team setting. My parents have instilled the importance of accountability and the reflection my performance has on not only myself but, many others. To this day, I strive to fulfill the expectations others have for me. If a promise is made or imposed, I will make the impossible possible. I am extremely sensitive which has hindered my ability to be a great leader thus far. One disagreement I have with the assessment and my self evaluation is “slow to begin action.” Although others may perceive me to be a procrastinator, I truly take on more than I can handle at any given moment which means one or two time sensitive tasks may be delayed. The important part is the task will get done. Another weakness defined is “poor at goal setting.” It is a personal confliction when verbally expressing personal goals with others. This is where the oversensitivity is defined. I may not set goals or accomplish goals if they jeopardize another person’s ambition. This result motivates my personal need to address this weakness. While I am most comfortable working in a slower and more relaxed environment, I currently work in a fast paced office and live with children and a husband that are high maintenance.
