“The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” by Mark Twain is about three people named Huckleberry Finn, Jim, and Tom Sawyer who adventure together throughout the story. Huck is a low-class, white, “tween”, who is technically an orphan. His father, an alcoholic, disappears for months at a time and when he returns, is abusive and incoherent. Because of his parental situation, Huck has no guidance from adults and turns to he, and his friend’s instincts to survive. Tom exemplifies what a young white man in society of his time was supposed to be, selfless, and prejudice with a large ego. Both Huck and Jim overcome their issues with immortality while Tom does not.
