Drive Towards New Technology And Customer Perception
ABSTRACT
A first aim of this report was to identify the group of potential consumers of a state of at electric vehicle. Socio-demographic, psychographic and behavioral variables were included in a questionnaire to identify the specific market segments. The second aim was to find the travel behavior to study how families use vehicles in daily travelling. Data were collected of safety personal traits like gender, income, and no of vehicles and that to buy electric vehicles. Data was gathered from 100 adults.
INTRODUCTION
Since the heydays of electric vehicles in the beginning of the 20th century, people/ time and time again have shown renewed interest in electric vehicles especially since the oil crisis in 1970’s. There have been three main reasons for this, the air pollution, the fact that the oil is a finite source and the demand for reduced CO2 emissions.
The first reason became a social issue in 1970’s in the response to the increasing pollution worldwide from road traffic and factories. At this time the Muskie Law was passed in United States of America. This required decreased level of CO, HC, and NOx exhausts in automobiles; otherwise they could not be sold or imported. The second originates from societal demands for alternative energy sources and was spurred by oil crisis. This sense of urgency has diminished somewhat because of the current state of oil supply and demand. Nevertheless considering that oil is a finite source and the finding of sustainable alternative strategies is perhaps the most important issue facing the world in the long run. Finally the third is the more recent issue which will certainly become even more pressing in future
In this context the electric vehicle should be very promising because there is a wide range of source of electricity. However there are at least two main obstacles present. First is to find the optimal battery technology and the second to get the market to...
