1.0 Introduction

Radiff Castle has been considered as one of the oldest castle in Glamorgan, which represents royal Welish culture and history. The Castle attracts a good number of visitors every year, and has been named as one of the best historical sites in Europe.
However, the castle is not doing well in attracting young teenage visitors as a popular historical site.
It is important to conduct a research to investigate the issues that people considers, in visiting historical places like Radiff Castle. The research will investigate the sources that visitors use to collect information on historical places and what they look for in a historical site. The research will also investigate issues related to the influence of friends and family members in deciding historical places to visit.
The management team of Radiff Castle recognizes the requirement of effective promotional activities to strengthen their position in Wales. Besides that, it is also very important to formulate marketing strategies to attract young teenage visitors.

2.0 Research Objectives

The overall objective is to ‘gain an understanding on the factors that influence the overall decision making process of young teenagers to choose historical places to visit’. This has been broken to the following sub objectives:
2.1 To gain an understanding on the attitude of teenagers to Radiff Castle as a historical place.
2.2 To gain an understanding on the influence of friends, family members and referrals in deciding historical places to visit.
2.3 To identify factors that influence in deciding historical places to visit.
2.4 To determine promotional platforms that can be used to attract young teenagers to visit Radiff Castle.
