2-“In the pat 18 months, HP has bought a score of firms to boost its software, services and printing divisions. Ultimately, the strategy must be to carve out a distinct identity for HP-so that the firm is no longer constantly measured against the pole stars of Dell for PCs an IBM for software and services”. --The cash register guy-Page 66

1- Despite his populist instincts, President Roh has recently gambled what remains of his political capital on securing a wide-ranging free trade agreement (FTA) with America. Such a deal would be a coup for South Korea, for whom America is the third biggest trading partner behind China and Japan. It would also be America’s biggest FTA since the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Estimates of the impact of an FTA including the creation of up to 100,000 jobs in Korea, and a 2% increase in GDP-have to be taken with a pinch of salt: for a start, it is not clear what might be agreed.
