Education, Change And Me: How I Plan On Getting Ready For The Future

“All children,” Picasso said, “are born artist. The problem is to remain an artist as we grow up.” - (Robinson). This quote inspires me a lot. A child, including me in the past, usually is very creative. Unfortunately, as we grow up we go out of it. Our traditional education system suppressed our creativity – (TLRSU). We’re only focusing in developing our left brain. But in the real world, what we’ve learnt in school doesn’t seem to be really crucial. Especially in this era, where all technologies are growing so fast, we’ll be left behind if we still apply the old system. By 2010, the amount of technical information is predicted to double every 72 hours – (DYK?). So, what can we, especially me, do to face all those things? I think I have to change some of my old ways.
In fact, I’m a bit surprise after seeing these materials. Despite the essay I have to make, they help me to think about my future I may never think about before. Well, in writing this essay, I try to find other sources which one of them is The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century by Thomas L. Friedman. Though I only read it from Wikipedia, but I can get the main point. The title is a metaphor for viewing the world as flat or level in terms of commerce and competition, as in a level playing field – or one where all competitors have an equal opportunity. As we can see now that the developing countries such as India, now is being more competitive than before. All the graduates speak 100% English - (DYK?). No one has predicted it before. So I, English people, Chinese people, we’re all having the same chances. It depends in how we can develop ourselves.
I realize that all lessons from school I get always focus on my left brain. Especially when I was in the 3rd year of Senior High School, I didn’t get any art lesson at all because I was in the Natural Science program. Actually, I love art so much (except drawing, I can’t). I love playing...
