Functions of Public Relations Paper
Introduction
The functions of public relations take many forms in different organizations. The author chose the organization known as the Filipino Professional and Businessmen’s Association, also known as“FILPABA”. This paper will explain the organizational and societal functions of public relations. This paper will identify and analyze the issues within the Philippine Professional and Businessmen’s Association (FILPABA) that have both the organizational and societal implications. Finally, this paper explains how the author addresses both organizational and societal audiences of the organization.
Philippine Professional and Businessmen’s Association Background
Until the early 1960’s, despite the steady influx and impressive accomplishments of the professional and entrepreneurs, the Filipinos have not gained the recognition needed in upgrading their image. It was for this reason that, in 1962, a group of Filipino professionals and businessmen form an association. FILPABA has several chapters located in major cities around the United States. Since the organizations inception, FILPABA has launched and participated in several major projects in the community. The organization’s vision is to continue to consolidate, collaborate, credential and community-based assistance.
Organizational and Societal Functions of Public Relations
