Evoulution Of A Word - Stress

As a human grows older things have a tendency to change and have difference in their connotation. A word that always seems to vary in my mind is stress. The circumstances I thought stress was when in the past as a youngster, a pre-teen, even in my upcoming years all seem altered in meaning.
I can hardly recollect the memories from my fourth year of life. I can only imagine what stress stood for and the tantrums I threw. Crying over missing the Rugrats and Barney, taking baths, brushing my teeth, eating the peas put on my lion king dinner plate are probably some of the tiny stressful situations that meant so much to me long-ago. As a small child, stress is present but not acknowledge. When you are younger, the things you seem to care and are troubled about the most are having fun and the amount of time you get to spend having it.
At ten, I was in the 4th grade entering the 5th and stress had changed in its own way. I was still trying to have as most fun as possible but I was becoming concerned about my appearance and boys. I remember standing in front of my closet trying to piece together an outfit for ten to thirty minutes. Boys, instead of being icky and carrying cooties, started to become cute and funny. I stressed over what was thought of me, what was cool and hip, and school was becoming more than just a place with foolish rules and where all my friends seemed to be. Homework and studying was kicking in and cutting into my childhood fun time. My parents started to assign me chores and lecture the importance of grades, school and behavior. However, stress had only just begun.
Now, stress has lessened in certain areas but has gained its place in my daily routine. My life is now prioritized. I seem to be less concerned about peer-pressure and boys and more concerned about my future, my time, my life, and my transition, more about me.
