Exegesis of Exodus 34: 29-35

וַיְהִי בְרֶדֶת מֹשֶה מֵהַר סִינַי וּשְנֵי
לֻחֹת הָףֵדֻת בְיַד־מֹשֶה בְרִדְתֹּו
מִן־הָהָר וּמֹשֶה לאֹ־יָדַע כִי קָרַן עור
פָנָיו בְדַבְרו אִתֹּו׃
34:29
And it happened, when Moses came down from the mountain of Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in Moses hand, when he came down from the mountain, that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone1 by speaking with him.
וַיַרְא אַהֲרֹן וְכָל־בְנֵי יִשְרָאֵל
אֶת־מֹשֶה וְהִנֵה קָרַן עור פָנָיו וַיִירְאוּ
מִגֶשֶת אֵלָיו׃
34:30
When Aaron and all of the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.
וַיִקְרָא אֲלֵהֶם מֹשֶה וַיָשֻבוּ אֵלָיו
אַהֲרֹן וְכָל־הַנְשִאִים בָףֵדָה וַיְדַבֵר
מֹשֶה אֲלֵהֶם׃
34:31
So Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders in the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them.
וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן נִגְשוּ כָל־בְנֵי יִשְרָאֵל וַיְצַוֵּם
אֵת כָל־אֲשֶר דִבֶר יהוה אִתֹּו בְהַר
סִינָי׃
34:32
And afterward all of the sons of Israel came near, and he put into their charge2 all of which the LORD had spoken to him on the mountain of Sinai
וַיְכַל מֹשֶה מִדַבֵר אִתָֹּם וַיִתֵֹּן ףַל־פָנָיו
מַסְוֶה׃
34:33
When Moses finished speaking to them, then he put a veil on his face.
וּבְבאֹ מֹשֶה לִפְנֵי יהוה לְדַבֵר אִתֹּו
יָסִיר אֶת־הַמַסְוֶה ףַד־צֵאתו וְיָצָא
וְדִבֶר אֶל־בְנֵי יִשְרָאֵל אֵת אֲשֶר
יְצֻוֶּה׃
34:34
But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. When he came out and spoke to the sons of Israel that which he had been commanded,
וְרָאוּ בְנֵי־יִשְרָאֵל אֶת־פְנֵי מֹשֶה כִי
קָרַן עור פְנֵי מֹשֶה וְהֵשִיב מֹשֶה
אֶת־הַמַסְוֶה ףַל־פָנָיו ףַד־בֹאו לְדַבֵר
אִתֹּו׃
34:35
the sons of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone. So Moses put back the veil upon3 his face until he went in to speak with him.
