Full Metal Jacket

Full Metal Jacket was directed by Stanley Kubrick. The move started out in a Parris Island boot camp with a very harsh drill instructor, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman played by Lee Ermey. At this boot camp Leonard Lawrence (Vincent D'Onofrio) was renamed Gomer Pyle because of his gumpy look and his overweight body. During boot camp everyone besides Pvt. Joker (Matthew Modine) and he goes crazy and kills Hartman and himself on the very last night. Pvt. Joker was sent to Vietnam to be a report but learns of his friend Cowboy (Arliss Howard) that is stationed near by and joker requests to join him. So he does and he takes a photographer with him. They do not see an ambush or a large attack but were taken out by a female sniper.
Full Metal Jacket was a great movie that very realistically depicted Vietnam. The movie showcased the harsh mental conditions during wartime. The fact that not everything was an ambush that one person could take out four American soldiers was shown in a very......
