Full Review Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde

‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde’ is a Victorian horror – mystery and was written in 1886 by Robert Louis Stevenson. The story is about an intelligent, kind, respectable man (Dr Jekyll) who created & took a drug that transforms him into an evil creature that injures & kills people (Mr Hyde).
Stevenson was born in 1850 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He had always dreamt of becoming a writer but his father had expected him to follow in his footsteps and become an engineer. The door he uses to enter the building was “blistered and distained”, this suggests that it has not been cared for or maintained as it ought to have been.
In contrast the door of Dr. Jekyll’s home “wore a great air of wealth and comfort”, whilst the inside of the house is described as “warmed … by a bright, open fire, and furnished with costly...
