Attaining Enlightenment
One of the main goals in attaining enlightenment is to dissolve the illusions that surround our everyday lives. The key, however to dissolving illusions is to understand that illusion is a necessity. We all walk a path that was paved in time long before we were ever meant to walk it. The paths intertwine and cross in ways that most people never think about. Long before we are born and long after we die the paths continue to run into one another endlessly until time itself ceases. Illusions are meant to block our vision from our one true path. Free will allows us to walk as we choose; gaining experiences we may never have known following our own path. Whether or not we return is a choice we have to make ourselves. No matter how far we wander, we are never as lost as we think we are. Sometimes we come into contact with the path of another that seems more interesting at the time, but is never as fulfilling in the long run. Sometimes we are meant to experience or uncover truths that lead us back to our true path. Sometimes we are meant to remember something that we experienced long ago in order to reaffirm our belief in a power greater than ourselves. Whatever reason we are presented with by illusions it is important to remember that not all illusions lead us away from our path. The important part is that we observe the illusion, recognize it for what it is, and keep walking along our true path. Whatever paths we have followed to reach this point go into making up that which we are. Those who find regret or fear in their past, will only give it power to shape their future. Do not deny you past either, you cannot escape it, only learn from it. It is said that when we are on our true paths we are surrounded by calm and tranquility, and if we are not, then we should look at the aspects of our life that do not agree with us and attempt to adjust them in order to return to our true path.
