Video game consoles are a fast growing industry. The term video game console is a machine designed for the end user to buy and play video games. The two top leaders of the seventh generation video game console are the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox and Sony Playstation. The top two next generation manufactures of video game consoles in the past 3 years are Nintendo and Microsoft according to Wikipedia. In comparison, Microsoft managed to sell a respectable 276,700 Xbox 360 unit during August 2007, meaning the console has an installed base of about 6.3 million units. However, when (Duncan) comparing that number to the Nintendo Wii, consider that the Xbox 360 has been on the market a full year longer than the Wii: in just nine months, Nintendo has managed to sell nearly two thirds as many consoles.
The game industry is definitely the place to have your money. It is growing faster than anyone predicted and it will continue to grow through the economic downturn. Think back, this is a form of entertainment, and Hollywood it had some of greatest fortunes during the great recession the video game industry is still at it’s very beginning.
