This paper is going to go over Riordan Manufacturing Company and the problems it faces with motivation and job satisfaction. The issues at hand will be discussed and the opportunities that Riordan may have to counter the lack of motivation and job satisfaction. In this paper it will address the stakeholders that are at risk and the dilemmas that face those stakeholders. The end-state-vision will be addressed followed by a gap analysis that Riordan Manufacturing Company could take.

Issue and Opportunity Identification
There are many issues and opportunities that face Riordan Manufacturing Company such as retention, reward, compensation, performance, and motivation. To address these issues Riordan must first understand these issues and how they relate to the organization culture and the efficiency of the organization. With these issues stated above the main concerns of the scenario is reward and motivation. The factor that drives all of the elements listed above is motivation. Without motivation the rewards, retention, and compensation will crumbled. According to Dreher and Dougherty the term motivation means; “the willingness to exert effort in a particular way—is an extremely important factor in understanding or predicting employee behavior. It is a factor that often responds to changes in HR systems, particularly reward systems.”
(Dreher & Dougherty, 2001, p28) By understanding the meaning, the efforts of the employee’s efforts are affected by the behaviors and what drives those behaviors, it is motivation.
The main problem that the management team faced at Riordan was failing to see the patterns or the change in the behaviors of the employees.
