The United States is faced with many problems these days and one of them being, providing health care and drug care to all its citizens including the 46 million Americans who don’t have health insurance coverage.   The health care industry in the United States is one of the largest industries, employing about 9 million people.   Health care accounts for fifteen percent of the U.S. gross domestic product and ten percent of total employment.   The health care industry is also not precise; it is a very broad industry containing hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, dentists’ offices, physicians’ offices, pharmaceuticals, etc.
The cost of health care is rising rapidly because of high prices and an increase in the services provided.   There are many Americans who have insurance and financial capabilities to meet medical treatment, but there are also many Americans who do not have the financial needs to afford health care or may receive poor care.   Bridging the gap between these two types of people is what needs to be done for health and drug care available to all citizens.   Unlike auto insurance, health care insurance and services are optional in the United States and aren’t required to have.   To make health and drug care available to everyone there would need to be financial sacrifices made.   The government and health care industries would have to take a big toll to make this possible.
The first problem with making health and drug care available to all citizens is the quality of health care.   The United States is considered to have the best quality of health care in the world.   The United States has some of the most advanced medical equipment and technologies.   More than half of the worlds research funding is also done in the United States.   With America’s high quality of health care and advanced technologies there have been good outcomes along with it.   Life expectancy has increased, diseases have been declining, Polio has been eliminated, ulcers are treated...
