Hispanics ethnic language is Spanish. Each Hispanic culture speaks a different form of Spanish. Mexican Americans speak Spanish that comes from the settlers in Spain and the Nahutal the language of the Aztec. The cities in Mexico have a distinct dialect from Hispanics who live in the United States. Puerto Ricans speak s the language that belongs to the group of the Caribbean Spanish. Puerto Rican Spanish is influenced by three different cultures. Taino Indians range across the Caribbean. African slaves were brought down in 1513, and had the most impact on the Spanish language. European and Spanish settlers from Andalusa were the first to come to Puerto Rico, giving it their distinct dialect. Cuban Spanish is very similar to the Spanish that is spoken in the Canary Islands. Some words that are spoken are of African, French, and Indian origins. The differences are recognized in the pronunciation of certain words. Dominican Spanish is Castlian Spanish and originally from the northern part of Spain. It is delivered quickly and it is known as one of the fastest spoken dialect from all of the Spanish dialects.
Mexican Americans account for 9% of the United States population and have had a social impact in society. Throughout the United States you can find Mexican restaurants, their music is heard, and they are seen in movies and all over television. Mexican Americans have grown socially from zoot suit members to being in political office. Mexican Americans make up a large percentage of the population in places like California and Texas. Illegal immigrants and Mexican Americans often make up the majority of workers in many blue collar occupations. Many Hispanic women work in service and retail jobs that often pay low wages. Hispanic men are employed as restaurant workers, truck drivers, gardeners, material moving workers, janitors, construction laborers, and other types of manual labor.
