Growing up in a place that’s population consist of more cows than people, lets you live slower and simpler life than in big cities. I lived in one such town until I was fourteen years old, and I thought that life was boring. All during my childhood I wanted to move to a big city so when my Mom said, “…we are moving to Houston.” I was thrilled. I thought that living in a big city, like Huston, would be more glamour and fabulous than small town life. I thought it would be like a movie, everything is magnificent after the girl gets to the city. I found out the day I moved to Houston that I missed my childhood home and that living in the big city was not a fabulous movie but a scary nightmare.
The foremost reason that I disliked Houston, was I had no family there, and I realized this the very second that we pulled into Houston.   When I lived in my small town I had the whole family around, for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even those times when they would showed-up and you just wished that they would go home. I have an unusually large family because everyone has lots of children, I am one of eight, I used to joke that the only thing in a small town to do was make babies. I didn’t know family meant so much to me until the day I moved to Houston with only my Mom and new Step-Dad. I missed my family by the time that we reached Houston, I wanted to talk to some of them, but couldn’t because the phones were with the movers that were coming the next day. The very first night that I slept in Houston, I spent it in a new house, a new bedroom, and most of all without any family.
I had heard prior to moving, Houston traffic was bed to drive in, but I didn’t think about it much, I wasn’t old enough to drive. After arriving, but before going to bed that very first night, my Mom and I went to the store to get some essential items, mainly food, we were all hungry.
