What If?
The topic and opinions about forgiveness vary greatly among people. It is hard for most people however to forgive people for wrongdoings. I am a firm believer in forgiveness and second chances. Life is a very long thing and everybody makes many mistakes throughout their lives some worse than others. There is a difference between those who actually want to be forgiven and those who just do it to do it. If someone can swallow their pride and admit they were in the wrong then I believe they at least deserve the opportunity to correct their mistakes.
I can relate to this essay because there was a point during my senior year where I decided I wasn’t going to go to college. I had been accepted to every university I had applied to yet I began disrespecting my parents, teachers, and classmates simply because I stopped caring. Soon after this my older brother dropped out of college and hit very hard times as he struggled to get by. One day I went to hang out with him and I realized what a bad spot he was in and how tough his life had become. At this point I realized I could not fall into this same situation as him.
After this I got back to my old ways of attending class, getting my work done, and respecting my peers. The people around me realized that I truly wanted to improve myself and was truly remorseful for my actions. Thankfully my family, teachers, and friends gave me another opportunity and helped me to get to the point in my life that I am currently at. Those who actually want to work for a second chance deserve the opportunity in my opinion and I think its wrong to deny someone that opportunity.
