Parani, Farman, and Overlay explain how violence can be promoted through the social networks such as MySpace. They focused on teens who exchanged insults through MySpace which later led to an assault on one of the teens. The assault was videotaped and posted on YouTube and then advertised on MySpace on the same day the incident had occurred. The following day everyone in the school had seen the assault through MySpace. this isn’t the first time that the social network of MySpace had caused acts of violence In 2006 a student posted violent threats about another student and in July of that same year a student was attacked because of a comment he posted about someone’s girlfriend.
Scott explains the phenomenon of obesity, and it suggests that obesity is strongly influenced through social ties. Researchers are now referring to the spread of obesity as the, “person to person spread of obesity” the idea suggests that when your friends become obese it increases the chances by almost 60 percent that you might become obese. According to Scott,” The good news is that, because it is related to social networks, and because the behaviors of social networks can be changed, there is a great deal of hope that positive behavioral interventions, aimed at entire social networks, can help to change the course of obesity in our culture.”
Although Scott suggested that,” you should not begin a backlash to those who are obese”, because it can be fought through the same social network, because we has people can use social network as a benefit. To fight unhealthy things such as obesity, while Priani, Farman, and Overley suggested that if there were ever any incidents though social network I would be able to find it through My Space, because if there was ever any information that was needed to solve a case or look up any information through social network, My Space and You Tube will be the best solution.
