Passport Publications & Media Corporation is seeking an Editorial Assistant to join its award-winning editorial team.
Job duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to include:
• Fact checking and general research
• Re-writing general text
• Gathering photos from outside sources
• Some administrative tasks
• Writing opportunities available for those who qualify
• Proofreading skills a must.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a recent college graduate or other aspiring journalist looking to break into the magazine publishing industry. The ideal candidate possesses great communication skills, the ability to work quickly and efficiently, has a strong attention to detail and is a true team player. Further, the candidate should be comfortable with all aspects of magazine production and is able to work efficiently on deadline. The Editorial Assistant should be extremely detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills and be comfortable taking initiative. Interest and knowledge of Palm Beach County, South Florida and the art world are a big plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate must:
• Be an efficient multitasker and a self-starter.
• Be detail oriented and exhibit total follow-through on all projects.
• Be an effective communicator.
• Have related internship or office experience.
• Be technologically savvy. Technical skills: must include Word, Excel, and (e-mail).
• Have a strong interest in the subject matter of the magazines.
