Legal Process
      John is an employee with a private sector firm.   John believes that he has been discriminated against and wishes to file a discrimination complaint against the firm.   When an employee of a private sector firm feels like he or she has been discriminated against, the employee would have to follow the guidelines and regulations on how properly to file a complaint set forth by several governing legislatures such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.   The complaint can travel from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to the federal court system to the court of appeals and finally end of in The U.S. Supreme Court and made into the law of the land. This paper will thoroughly analyze and explain how an employee could file a discrimination complaint as it applies to John and the private sector.  
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
      The United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission goal is to eliminate illegal discrimination in the workplace.   The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is a federal commissioned board that enforces federal laws prohibiting job discrimination.   The discrimination laws the EEOC enforces are: “age discrimination, sexual harassment, sex-related discrimination, race-related discrimination, religious discrimination, equal pay and compensation discrimination, national origin-related discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, disability discrimination and retaliation” (The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 2007).
