Enkidu went to go fight Gilgamesh because Gilgamesh wanted to sleep with the bride before the wedding. And lunged at Enkidu. They fell like Wolves at each other’s throats, like bulls bellowing, and hrses gasping for breath. (see pp. 23)
From the fighting Enkidu and Gilgamesh see that they are quite similar. He turned to Enkidu who leaned against his shoulder and looked into his eyes and saw himself in the other just as Enkidu saw himself in Gilgamesh. (see pp. 24)
Here Gilgamesh shows his inner strength of will. Why are you worried about death? Only the gods are immortal anyway, sighed Gilgamesh. What men do is nothing, so fear is never justified. (see. pp. 29)
