When it comes to searching for data on welfare, it seems I always find why people are against it and not why they are for it. The internet really does not give information on why we should have welfare programs. Most people think it is a waste, and that the government should take the money and put it to something more important. Those same people feel that welfare recipients should stop being lazy and stop depending on others to take care of them. To me, being lazy is not always the case.
I feel we should have welfare programs, simply because there are families out there who actually need financial assistance. Not everyone abuse it, some actually try to get off of it. However, there are some who use the money unnecessarily. Some get their checks and go on a shopping spree or blow the money on other unnecessary, materialistic belongings. Then there are some who do not even care for their own children when it comes to spending the money. Overall, I feel that this topic is......
