Macbeth, A Heartless Murderer?
Macbeth a play, set in 11th century Scotland written by William Shakespeare shows the gradual change in the personality of the main character, Macbeth. Although at one time Macbeth hesitated to kill, he soon became a heartless murderer.
As others see Macbeth, he has a kind nature and deserves recognition for his behavior. As stated "They smack of honor both." This quotation was said by King Duncan after Macbeth killed Macdonwald and the Thane of Cawdor was to be hung, proclaiming that Macbeth and Banquo deserved honor. Also, Duncan says, "Go pronounce his present death, and with his former title greet Macbeth." Meaning that King Duncan thought Macbeth deserved the title of Thane of Cawdor because he was now dead due to Macbeth's courage. Lady Macbeth received a letter from Macbeth stating his ambition to become king.
