1) Pioneering in China: Risks and Benefits
The purpose of this article is to present two conceptual frameworks: one relating to the effects of the timing of foreign entry and the other relating the timing decision of FDI, both focused on transitional economies. Author investigates the economic implications, illustrates the strategy formulation framework, provides national survey results based on the Chinese market and comes up with several managerial implications for international investors in his study. Although a detailed discussion on how to develop appropriate pioneer or follower strategies for transnational investors in emerging markets is beyond the scope of this article, it has suggestions for managers which are described clearly and well. This article provides good outlines for late-entrants,the risks and advantages they face.  
2) From market entry to new product development in China: Environmental Systems Controls.
This case study was written to understand the global environment and its implications for new product developers by using in-depth interviews with company managers. It concentrates on Environmental Systems Controls whose products include variety of pollution control equipment. By explaining the company’s experiences in detail, the case study provides information and marketing approaches for new product developers. Although the article is concentrated on a specific industry and a company, it creates great understanding of entrances to different developing markets. Both the product and the market are surprisingly relevant to our topic of assignment which makes the implications of this study an important source of information
