Medical Marijuana: The Miracle Drug
I. Picture this :
A. You grow up having a disease that causes you to be in constant pain. A pain that is so dreadful that you even have thoughts of suicide. You do anything to make it end. You suffer day after day wishing that one day a doctor will prescribe you a medicine that actually works. You've been prescribed to many different medications but none were worth taking. They only took away your ability to function in everyday life because of the side effects that come with them. Finally you hear of a drug that can take your pain away. It's the only thing that can make you quit suffering, but there's a catch, your state government will not legalize it's use for a medicine. A bunch of suits that don't go through what you do are taking away your right to lead a happy life. Is it fair?
B. The miracle medicine I am talking about is marijuana. A well known illegal substance that contains THC which is often used for getting high.

A. Marijuana is one of the safest therapeutically active substances know. There has never been any recorded deaths due to an overdose. It is beneficial in the treatment of many conditions including AIDS, glaucoma, cancer, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and chronic pain. Many patients also reported that it useful in treating arthritis, migraines, menstrual cramps, alcoholism, depression, and other mood disorders.
B. The people who are currently suffering from these conditions and legal medical options have been proven unsafe or ineffective have two options. They could either suffer in pain and live with the problems their condition brings, or they could illegally use marijuana and risk many consequences including
1. Scarcity and high price
2. Contaminated or laced marijuana
3. Arrest, fines, court costs, incarceration, probation, and c criminal records.
